Description of Outcome Progress Toward Outcome
The TA will support the advancement of gender equity in the next phase of decentralization and deconcentration reform. TA Letter of Agreement was signed on 26 June 2007.
Implementation Progress
Description of Project Outputs Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities and Issues)
1. Training of trainers.
2. Developing the capacity of women councilors and women and children focal points (WCFPs).
3. Establishing networking forums among women councilors and WCFPs.
- Training of Trainers for provincial and district staff (from four provinces) of M. of Women's Affairs have completed.
- Forums are being held to strengthen capacity for 489 female commune councilors. The first round of the three forums for female commune councilors (FCCs) and for WCFPs was completed. Each round consisted of 20 forums meetings, and covered 489 FCCs and WCFPs in 47 districts of the target provinces. The second round of forums has started in November 2008. The thid round of forums will start in May 2009.
Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The Country Strategy and Program (CSP) 2005-2009 aims at supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia to implement the decentralization and deconcentrration policy and strategy. It is part of an overall effort by ADB to promote good governace in Cambodia. The CSP also supports gender mainstreaming in the sectors and projects supported by ADB. This TA is piggy-backed to Grant 0066-CAM "Commune Council Development Project Phase 2", to provide gender mainstreaning activities.
