| Impact | The proposed R-PATA will contribute to the ongoing global efforts to increase the effectiveness of development assistance through the five pillars of the Paris Declaration: harmonization, alignment, ownership, management for development results and mutual accountability. DMCs will move towards achieving greater aid effectiveness and development effectiveness and contribute to achievement of MDGs and poverty reduction in the region. The TA will also have potential impact on improved practices on country ownership and conditionality through Cluster C work on conditionality study and documentation of best practices. | |||
| Outcome |
(i) enhanced capacity of DMCs through sharing of experiences on south-south cooperation and development effectiveness, and on preparing their own country plans for implementation of the Paris Declaration;
(ii) enhanced DMC participation and contribution to the aid effectiveness debate, to discussions at the HLF-4 Roundtables and to the HLF-4 process and outcomes document; (iii) influencing aid effectiveness and development effectiveness debate at the international level, and agreeing on the way forward; (iv) better partnerships and harmonization of efforts on aid effectiveness and development effectiveness at the HLM and the HLF-4 to ensure intended development outcomes at the country level; (v) improved donor practices and policies including for new players int he international aid architecture. |

| Outputs and Timeframe |
(i) country case studies for the South-South Cooperation and Capacity Development High Level Meeting (HLM) in March 2010;
(ii) our sub-regional workshops and subregional outcome documents providing timely inputs into the preparation, agenda and scope of HLF-4 Roundtables; (iii) a single document consolidating all inputs from the sub-regional workshops in order to provide a regional perspective and input towards the discussions at HLF-4; (iv) participation of DMCs at the HLM and at the HLF-4 including the Roundtable meetings, the Ministerial-level sessions and the "Marketplace"; (v) meeting to share experiences and ideas about the use of MfDR for achieving development outcomes, and identify common issues to be presented at the HLF-4; (vi) best practice document on conditionality; (vii) website (viii) newsletter/other publication |
