| Impact | SARD's regional economics of climate change study for South Asia aims to contribute to an enhanced resilience to climate change risks in South Asia. The study is going to be undertaken in two parts, Part I will involve calculation of and interpretation of the marginal abatement cost (MAC) curves and Part II of the study (the focus of this R-PATA) will analyze the impact of climate change and propose policy options for climate change adaptation. | |||

| Outputs and Timeframe |
The project comprises four outputs.
Output 1: (i) assessment of the current climate policy and adaptation measures at the country and regional levels; (ii) identification of policy gaps; (iii) identification of vulnerable areas and sectors and segments of population; (iv) estimation of sector-specific damages, socio-economic impacts, and poverty impacts; (v) analysis of the implications of climate change on poverty reduction and sustainable development efforts; (vi) review of laws, agreements and regulations implemented, adopted, proposed and under preparation which address the issue of adaptation to climate change; and (vii) identification of regional, national and local initiatives which address climate change issues; Output 2: Analysis of climate change on major sectors including but not restricted to agriculture, forest, water, marine and coastal resources including fisheries and health at the regional and country levels. This analysis will be conducted based on the outputs from the models under Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate scenarios. Output 3: Climate Policy Simulation Tool (CPST) to develop key economic indicators to show the economic consequences of different packages of climate policies. The CPST will also be able to conduct quantitative and qualitative assessment of different climate policy choices. Output 4: Information dissemination through (i) publication of articles in external journals and books; (ii) postings on the ADB website and on international and national media; and (iii) presentations at conferences and workshops. |

| Consulting Services | The TA will require 40 person-months of individual international consulting services and another 35 person-months of individual national consulting services. The consultants will be engaged in accordance with ADB Guidelines on the Use of Consultants. In addition, the TA will engage administrative supporters on an as-needed basis. | |||
