Outcome Progress Toward Outcome
Water Resources and Environment Administration (WREA) provides effective leadership in the implementation of national water resources policy and strategy. WREA and development partners continue to cooperate to refine the support program and to develop the capacity of WREA staff to provide leadership in water resources management in Lao PDR.
Outputs and Timeframe Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities and Issues)
The expected outcome will be the effective implementation of the National Integrated Water Resources Management Support Program (NIWRMSP) and improved WREA internal processes and staff capacities to meet prudent program governance and financial management standards. Incremental cost to support this additional output was approved on 14 July 2009. Consultant TOR and selection criteria are in discussion with the WREA management.

Stakeholder Participation and Consultation A focused consultation forum for coordination and dialogue between government, Nam Ngum River Basin Committee (NNRBC) and hydropower project promoters and operators shall be established.

  Consulting Services The additional scope of the TA will require 8 months of international consulting inputs and 13 months of national consulting inputs over a period of 14 months.
